We have a unique way of perceiving
ourselves, others and the world around us, and we communicate with others based
on those perceptions. Perception is a
cognitive process through which we interpret our experiences and come to our own
unique understandings (O’Hair & Wiemann, 2010).
What surprised me the most is the
changing of the switching of accommodation language of style? Sometime, I do not know that I am doing what
my son and girlfriend said, I am doing, but I guess, I have been doing the
accommodation communication for so long that it comes out of me naturally. The other insight that i have gain is that
public speaking can be challenging. When the nonverbal body language said
something different than what audience wants to hear. For example; when the
speaker is talking, and the topic does not interest the receiver or the
speaker; your eye behavior is not in contact with your audiences; the speaker
try to avoid talking, words come out with ("um.") The head held down more
than up as if in shame.
